Description: |
When I asked Kadek's father permission to enter the room where Kadek was being held for over twenty years, it felt I stepped into a hellhole. I believe this spilt second of a moment changed my whole perception as a photographer and human. It hit me like a wall and it felt very clear that this story about Pasung needs to be told. Kadek was sitting on the ground smeared with her own faeces and I quietly sat next to her. Later I asked the father if it was possible to wash her and he gave her a bucket and I was happy he took her outside for a moment. ©Ingetje Tadros/Diimex |
