Description: Calcutta, India : Mime artist Apu Maiti takes a breather between his performances. The mime shows, which place great importance on body language, often last for nearly two hours and are physically exhausting for the performers. “We do not take a bath or have rice before the show to remain alert. I prefer starving but other performers eat biscuits and bread” informs Apu. (photo credit: Chhandak Pradhan)
