Texas Theater Ticket Booth
Texas Theater Ticket Booth |
Description: |
The Texas Theater, which opened in 1931 and was once part of a chain of theaters owned by Howard Hughes, is being restored to it's original Spanish Eclectic style by the Oak Cliff Foundation. Having fallen on hard times, as had the neighborhood, and suffered an electrical fire that blackened the seating area, it is set to open again as a venue for regional live theater. It is also where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested in 1963 for the murder of a president. |
