NO.034
Description: On a daily basis, this relief station prepares meals for approximately 1000 residents and contractors involved in the reconstruction effort. Despite the operation's limited budget and lack of resources, the camp is clean and run in an extremely efficient and organized manner. The volunteers come from all walks of life and every state of the nation. With few exceptions these individuals have covered their own travel expenses and receive no wages for the work they perform. Many workers at this particular location live in a tent city at the rear of the camp, where some have resided for several months.
